Whoo Hoo!

Long awaited news has FINALLY arrived today! 

In the beginning of March my daughter, Taylor, applied for admittance into Booker T. Washington High School of Performing and Visual Arts.  Today we got "the letter" in the mail and as she ripped the envelope open I caught a glimpse of the word we have long been hoping to see....ACCEPTED.  Of course we instantly began screaming and hugging and then... more screaming.  Eventually, we got around to reading the letter in full.  Hahaha!

For those who don't know...
Here's some info about the school (whose initials are BTWHSPVA...craziness, I know.) copied directly from Wikipedia-   

Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts is a public secondary school located in the Arts District of downtown Dallas, TX.  Booker T. Washington High School enrolls students in grades 9-12 and is the Dallas Independent School District's arts magnet school (thus, it is often locally referred to simply as Arts Magnet). Many accomplished performers and artists have been educated in the school.

Famous alumni include:

• Norah Jones (Grammy Award Winner) 
• Todd Duffey (Office Space (1999) - Waiter with "flair")

ANYWAY..all of Taylor's hard work paid off.  She applied for the Theatre Department and had to go through an all day workshop and then a 3 hour audition including a monologue performance, a cold reading, drawing a set design, designing a costume, writing a creative piece, and then an interview.  Not to mention that her academic grades and TAKS test scores were also a large factor. 

So she's one of the 55 new students accepted for the 2008-2009 year!  She's SUPER excited and I'm excited for her.

My biggest accomplishment so far is: Winning State Marching and State Honor Band

The 1st one. 

Senior Shoot-a-rama is crazy around here and we are still going!  To all those 2008 seniors who have NOT yet had your senior pictures taken...it's not too late! 

At this point we are booked up through the first week of May.  That said...we would not be able to get your pics taken and back to you in time for graduation announcements...but we can still get you in to have awesome pictures you'll want to keep forever. 

So don't miss out on your senior pictures!  Do you realize that statistically speaking you most likely won't have "formal" pictures taken again until your wedding???  (college party pics don't count!)

We are officially booked up for our Spring Mini-Sessions. 

We will not have mini-sessions available again until the fall so if you want pics of your little ones with us between now and then we'll have to do it the old fashioned way.

Well my 30 day blog challenge came to an end on Tuesday...I kept going a few more days to make-up for the 2 days during the challenge I missed.  For those of you who don't know, my friend Nikki and I challenged each other to blog every day for 30 days straight.  Although I didn't end with a perfect record, I think it's safe to say that I definitely beat Nikki on this one.   Nikki, I dare you to disagree!  :)

I will report that indeed it was difficult at times...I would have a crazy busy day shooting then go to the office then home and then dinner and then editing and then get in bed and then ..."oh crap!  I forgot to blog!"   But overall, I really enjoyed it and may personally challenge myself to do it again.  But maybe start Monday...

Yeah, so about my terribly fantastic exciting life...   

Its late Friday night and I just finished watching Juno with my 14 year old daughter.  Now I'm blogging while watching a Will & Grace rerun....thrilling, I know.  Oh, you believed that thing I said about exciting?  ;)

Juno is a really cute movie though and just came out on DVD so catch it if you haven't yet.

Ok, getting sleepy...I think I covered all "pertinent" updates... ??? ... yes, i think so... ok, goodnite!
