Last year was a terrific year for urban kids. It was our first FULL year in business and it definitely exceeded my expectations! So this year we're starting off with lots of new changes to keep everything running SMOOOOTHLY. This is good for me and even better for our clients.
First, many of our clients have already met or talked with Shannon at some point. Up to now she has been doing whatever she could to help me out when needed. Well, she has now officially been given the title of "business partner". With an MBA in marketing and another masters degree in communications, I can't think of a better candidate to take over the "business" side of things. Angel, who has been seen assisting me on various photo shoots, will also be taking on new roles as well. Although her primary occupation as a *fabulous* local/regional actress will continue, she will soon add the role of our office manager to her repertoire! She will be our clients "go-to" person... setting up sessions, advising on wardrobe, and everything else. :)
So what all that means is I can concentrate on what I do best..being creative! (i.e. NOT business) HA! We all know that most creative people are horrible businessmen/women. and I am absolutely no exception!! We're great with ideas though!
In addition, we'll be offering new products, changing around the way we do a few things and clients will see quicker turnarounds on their orders. YIPPEE!
Now, let's move onto some new photos...Big Kids!
My first photo shoot of the year was absolutely different than any one before. One of my favorite clients bought her parents an urban kids gift certificate for their 50th wedding anniversary. The celebration is coming up soon and they are going to have some really beautiful photos to display at the wonderful event. W.E. and Nancy wanted their session to take place at their church...and I think the images turned out great.
Congratulations on 50 years of marriage!
